Euthanasia

Providing compassionate care during a difficult time.

While euthanasia is one of the most difficult moments you will ever experience with your pet, it is also one of the most important. Once you and the veterinarian have decided that the time has come, our team will be there every step of the way to create the perfect goodbye according to your needs and those of your faithful companion.

What is pet euthanasia?

In veterinary medicine, euthanasia consists of the injection of a drug that induces the animal’s death. The whole procedure is peaceful and painless.

Can I stay with my pet during the euthanasia?

Absolutely. Your presence during their final moments will help keep them calm and comfortable during the procedure.

How will I know that the time has come?

Even though euthanasia is a difficult decision, when your pet no longer has a quality of life or is in constant pain, it can be seen as a last act of kindness towards your best friend. If you have any questions about your cat or dog’s quality of life, we recommend that you make an appointment to discuss this with your veterinarian. He or she will be able to help you determine if the time has come by examining your pet and asking you questions about their habits. This will enable us to determine if euthanasia is justified.

How is the euthanasia drug administered?

The euthanasia drug is administered intravenously. The procedure is painless for your cat or dog and is performed in a very peaceful environment. Please contact us at the clinic if you have any questions or concerns regarding euthanasia.
